Among the many reasons why people seek counseling, one reason stands out as a factor….LIFETIME CHANGES.   Change is a constant in our lives that many strongly resist, and have difficulty coping.  To nurture our emotional health requires us to take three steps:  1) Learn how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected; 2) Manage our emotions; and 3) Tolerate the stress that life changes bring.

Lifetime changes do not need to cause distress.  Individuals can become stronger.  Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy give individuals tools to recognize unhealthy coping styles.  These tools are the key to creating new, healthier, effective styles of living.

Each person coming into counseling has their own individual needs.  As clinicians, we want to partner with our clients to identify their goals and help them on their journey to a healthier, more satisfying life.

Marnie Stanton, LCSW, MSW

Mrs. Marnie Stanton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience in social work practice, most of which has been in a counseling role. She considers herself a generalist practitioner, with experience in a range of settings, treating a variety of populations and mental health concerns. She  works with adults and children ages 10 and up, treating depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, postpartum depression, bereavement, anger control problems and adjustment to stressors.

Mrs. Stanton enjoys assisting clients in developing coping skills and greater self-acceptance, while helping them to navigate relationships, challenging life circumstances, and improve their overall mental health and wellness.

It is an honor for her to be fully present with someone in their pain and uncertainty, and join with them in finding a way forward. Whatever you are going through, you are not alone, and she will be glad to listen, support you and collaborate with you to facilitate healing and growth in your life.
